
In Delhi-NCR, strong tremors of a powerful earthquake were felt. According to the National Center for Seismology, a 6.2 magnitude earthquake struck at a depth of 5 kilometers in Nepal. The earthquake was also felt in parts of India, including the capital city of New Delhi and its surrounding areas. In some parts of New Delhi, people rushed out of their homes and office buildings. There have been no immediate reports of damage in India or Nepal.
The National Center for Seismology reported that the epicenter of the earthquake was located at 29.39 degrees north latitude and 81.23 degrees east longitude in Nepal.
According to the GFZ (German Research Centre for Geosciences), which is a national earthquake research center, a 5.6 magnitude earthquake occurred in the Nepal region. In various parts of northern India, strong tremors were felt, prompting people in Dehradun to evacuate their buildings.
Meanwhile, as per the National Center for Seismology, a 6.2 magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale struck Nepal at 2:51 PM today.
It was reported that the earthquake was recorded in the Talakot area of the Bajhang district, 700 kilometers west of Kathmandu, Nepal. The earthquake was also felt in Bhajang and neighboring districts of India.
The National Center for Seismology (NCS) stated that on Tuesday afternoon, two earthquakes with magnitudes of 6.2 and 4.6 on the Richter scale struck Nepal, with strong tremors felt in large parts of India. Within less than half an hour, two tremors were felt, with the first earthquake occurring at 14:25:52 IST and the second at 14:51:04 IST.
The NCS posted on Twitter, “Earthquake Magnitude: 4.6, 03-10-2023, 14:25:52 IST, Latitude: 29.37, Longitude: 81.22, Depth: 10 kilometers, Location: Nepal.”
The first earthquake had a depth of 10 kilometers, while the second one, with a magnitude of 6.2, had a depth of 5 kilometers.

As strong tremors from the earthquakes were felt in various parts of northern India, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, along with others, evacuated from a government building.
