Asian Games 2023 Live Update: India Wins Silver in Men’s Canoe Double 1000 Meters Event.

Sunday, October 3rd: As of now, India has secured a total of 62 medals in the Asian Games 2023, comprising 13 gold, 24 silver, and 25 bronze medals.
Indian boxer Preeti Pawar concluded her campaign in the Asian Games 2023 with a silver medal. In the 54 kg semifinal match, she faced the reigning flyweight champion from China, Chang Yuan. Despite her commendable efforts, Preeti lost with a score of 0-5. It’s worth noting that Preeti had already secured an Olympic quota in the sport.
Earlier in the day, in the India vs. Nepal cricket match, Indian captain Ruturaj Gaikwad won the toss and decided to bat. This match marks the beginning of the Indian men’s cricket campaign in the Asian Games 2023.
India finished their innings with a strong total of 202 runs, which is considered an excellent score on this pitch. They started aggressively, reaching 50 runs within the first 4 overs, which raised hopes of a significant score. However, credit must be given to Nepal for their comeback, taking 4 wickets while conceding 50 runs, including the dismissal of Jayaswal. In the end, Rinku Singh played an explosive innings, taking India’s total score beyond 200 runs.

On Sunday, India won 15 medals, with 9 coming in athletics events. Track and field athlete Avinash Sable broke records at the Asian Games 2023 as he secured the gold medal for India in the Men’s 3000 Meters Steeplechase with ease.
Tajinderpal Singh Toor defended his Men’s Shot Put title in Hangzhou with a best throw of 20.36 meters. In the Women’s 1500 Meters Run, Harmeet Bains won a silver medal, while in the Men’s Long Jump, Murali Sreeshankar narrowly missed gold, settling for silver by just 0.03 seconds behind the winner, Wang Jianan of China. In the Men’s 1500 Meters, Ajay Kumar Saroj and Jinson Johnson secured second and third place, respectively.
India’s top discus thrower Seema Punia and heptathlete Nandini Agasara had to settle for bronze medals. Jyoti Yaraji won a silver medal in the Women’s 100 Meters Hurdles.
As of October 3rd, India’s medal tally in the Asian Games 2023 stands at 62 medals – 13 gold, 24 silver, and 25 bronze.
